An absolutely stunning example of a finely carved Sardonyx shell cameo brooch. Depicting the Roman Goddess Ceres, Goddess of agriculture, grain crops, fertility and a mothers love. The Cameo is in perfect condition, and has been mounted in a very simple and beautifully made mount, stamped '750' and tested and verified as 18ct gold. It has a secure roller catch brooch fastener and a pendant bail which folds down when worn as a brooch.
