Amethyst and Diamond Brooch

The most fabulous deep octagonal Amethyst, with a an old cushion cut diamond set to the centre. The amethyst is set on a screw thread and can be removed from the brooch, possibly in the past it would have had a ring shank which it could be worn on. It is on a simple gold bar brooch and looks incredible worn on a scarf or lapel.
The brooch pre-dates mandatory hallmarking laws, but we have tested it as 9ct gold.
